Chunghwa Telecom, Intel Deepen Cooperation

Chunghwa Telecom announced that the company will strengthen its partnership with Intel, according to a May 3, 2012 report by the Commercial Times of Taiwan. The in-depth cooperation between Chunghwa Telecom and Intel is projected to focus on smart TV, cloud computing, digital convergence, and ICT development in Taiwan. Chunghwa Telecom said that most of the STBs (Set Top Boxes) purchased for its second generation digital TV platform will adopt Intel's chips, and these STBs will be manufactured by Taiwanese local makers.
